PYRAMIDS ON WATER,
FLOATING STONES

Author: Sörös István
Publisher: Mandorfi Bt.
"Pyramids on Water, Floating Stones" by István Sörös promises an exciting
experience of reading for all Egypt fans, this book - and maybe it is not an exaggeration
- basicly shatters the assumptions have come to light until now about megalithic
constructions. The special procedure of the constructions - and it is equal to a real
discovery - is shown by the author through the example of the Egyptian great pyramids and
megalithic churches, intelligibly enough for every probable inquirer. The foreword was
written by the Big Old Man of the Hungarian Television, Tamás Vitray, who - on his own
confession - did really doubt in every farfetched "idea" and discovery, but this
time he was influenced by the excitement of the discovery and the promise of the Big
Adventure. Joining the Author from Gizeh to Edfu (and even farther in imagination) we can
get acquainted with the procedure of the constructions made 3-5 thousand years ago of the
ancient world, with the necessary conditions and with the not at all superhuman results
that led to the final result -let's say - in case of the Great Pyramid of Gizeh. In the
gorgeous book of 150 pages, which contains nearly 300 (mostly colorful) photos and
graphics we can meet - among others - the following chapters:
ˇ Everything Horizontal, or First Steps
ˇ The Ancient and Modern Hydrography of the Region
ˇ Why Were the Three Gizeh Pyramids Built and What Decided Their Location?
ˇ A Final Repudiation of the Ramping System
ˇ The Theory of the Movement of Materials
ˇ Construction with the Floating Crane of the Ancient World
From the plentiful explanations published in the book we would only pick out that owing to
the discoverer, in pulling up the megalithic buildings water had a big role. Much bigger
than anyone would have thought it until now. Those who swore to the theory that the huge
holes around the pyramids were filled up with sand and then the sculptures or death
sarcophaguses of several tons were sunk down into them by scooping out the sand, can beat
their heads now into the wall. Namely the construction ingredient was not sand but
obviously water! The picture is colored on with the fact that in 1954 the black box of the
pyramid construction was found in the foot of the Kheops Pyramid but at that time a
completely different importance was attached to it. István Sörös now proves that the
mechanism, the so-called Great Boat of Khufu which was thought to have a cultic purpose,
is not not a sacred object on which the pharaos were cruising on the foams of the Nile but
a building machine. Building stones of several tons could be moved and lifted into their
indicated place in the building with the special ship of the ancient world or to be more
precise with the floating crane. All this could be operated in a very effective way, with
a minimal physical work. The theory seems to collapse which says that unfortunate slaves
or "free" Egyptian peasants would have dragged the building stones up to the
high on enormous ramps. And so the theory of the so-called "rolling stones" also
seems groundless but the assumption as well that the building workers of the ancient world
would have had a kite moved by the wind or a mechanism similar to an airship.
"Pyramids On Water, Floating Stones" discusses the building procedures with an
entire elaboration, spiced with many graphics, technical drawings and photos. It offers a
pleasant reading, an exciting book to finger through during the winter fests.
